We support broadband legislation (HB 5 and SB 5) hope that areas of interest will include urban and rural communities as well.
Austin Tech Alliance supports efforts to encourage legislation that will increase affordable and reliable broadband connectivity across the state of Texas. We are encouraged to see broadband access as an emergency item for the 87th legislative session and support well-funded, long-term solutions to expand access to broadband and meet the needs of all Texans, including those living in urban and suburban communities.
We are a mission-driven organization that seeks to promote civic engagement in Austin’s tech sector. Austin Tech Alliance advocates for technology to be used as a tool to help solve civic challenges. Access to broadband is key in the use of relevant technologies. We therefore support high-speed, adequate, reliable, and affordable broadband access to all areas across the state. We support legislation that will fill the gaps of the digital divide across all areas of the state of Texas – whether rural, suburban or urban.
