ATA adds Ku and Lagarde to Advisory Board

Austin Tech Alliance is excited to welcome Ruby Ku and Alisha Lagarde to our Advisory Board.

Ruby Ku and Alisha Lagarde

Ruby is the Managing Director of the Austin Center for Design, an ATA member company. The Center exists to transform society through design and design education and offers curriculum that repositions creative design education in the context of designing for the public sector. She is also an alumna of the school and has stayed involved as a mentor since graduating.

Ruby previously served as the VP of Product for Aunt Bertha, a public benefit corporation that works as a social services search engine and helps connect social workers and people in need to services in their area. She started with the company as an early hire and was instrumental in helping them grow from four to 40 employees.

Alisha is the CEO of OpDots, a data and visualization console that presents virtual representations of a company’s CRM data. Alisha also founded Launch Her Career, a company focused on mentoring young women to successfully launch their careers by providing them with the skills and tools necessary to build better business relationships.

As the former CEO and President of Austin Technology Council, Alisha is well-known as an organizer in Austin’s tech sector. She also previously served as the General Manager for the Texas Tribune, and has worked in sales management, and marketing/publishing.

ATA’s Advisory Board provides strategic advice and input to staff and the board of directors, creating a broader voice representing a cross-section of our tech community. This ensures that ATA can best fulfill its mission to promote civic engagement in Austin’s tech sector.
