Hops & Pops: a voting conversation with James Slattery

May 21, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Join Austin Tech Alliance for Hops & Pops — a new series of fireside chats with community leaders. May will focus on voter education and bills that have been proposed and passed in the TX Legislature.

Our featured guest is James Slattery who currently serves as Senior Voting Rights Attorney with Texas Civil Rights Project.

James leads TCRP’s initiative to boost high school voter registration rates in Texas, and encourage voting and civic participation by young voters. James originally came to Texas as Deputy Voter Protection Director for Battleground Texas and the Wendy R. Davis for Governor Campaign in 2014.

Previously, James worked on several Democratic campaigns, including as Delegate Operations Coordinator for President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign and as Regional Voter Protection Director for the Terry McAuliffe for Governor of Virginia Campaign in 2013.

Come with your voting questions and join us for a hops, pops and policy!
