Degradation and Defense of Information Integrity and Civil Discourse

February 13, 2019 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Description

Join Austin Tech Alliance and Jonathon Morgan, CEO and Founder of New Knowledge, an ATA member company, as he talks about social media’s impact on civil discourse and business, and how to detect manipulation when using these platforms.

Prior to founding New Knowledge, Jonathon published research about extremist groups manipulating social media with the Brookings Institution, The Atlantic, and the Washington Post, presented at NATO’s Center of Excellence for Defense Against Terrorism, the United States Institute for Peace, and the African Union. He also served as an adviser to the US State Department, developing strategies for digital counter-terrorism. His non-partisan perspective on social media can help us further understand the need for information integrity and plan ways to disrupt disinformation.

This event will be live streamed and light refreshments will be served.
