Austin Tech Alliance consults and relies on our Advisory Board for their expertise and feedback on our programs and strategy. This week we’ll learn about ATA Advisory Board Member, Erin Burget. Erin is Director of External & Legislative Affairs at AT&T.
Why did you decide to join the ATA Advisory Board?
At AT&T, I’ve seen the positive impact that technology can have on our lives. The ATA Advisory Board is made up of diverse individuals and companies who also believe in using tech as a tool for betterment of our community and I am exited to be a part of that.
What is your favorite thing(s) about being a part of ATA?
I love getting to work with the many creative minds in Austin’s tech community where no ideas are too crazy and every problem is just another opportunity to invent.
Why is it important for the tech community to be civically engaged?
As technology advances, policymakers will rely more and more on the expertise of technologists to inform more effective policy. I think it’s the responsibility of the tech community to ensure we are actively engaging with our policymakers.
